Insulation impacts both the conduction and the convection of heat flow, keeping your home warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Traditional fiberglass and cellulose insulation offer decent insulating value, but spray foam is a superior product that reduces energy bills, improves comfort and provides better moisture control.Source:https://greenearthsprayfoam.com
Foam insulation is sprayed into nooks, crannies and spaces that other insulation cannot reach, resulting in a more efficient insulated space. A well-insulated home can save up to 30% on energy costs!
The Energy Efficiency Benefits of Spray Foam Insulation with Green Earth Spray Foam
Spray foam insulation is a building material that can be installed in many different types of buildings. It can be sprayed in the foundation of new construction, under slab, on walls, on roofs and more. Foam insulation can provide a thermal barrier, preventing heat loss or gain in the foundation and improving energy efficiency of the entire building envelope.
There are two different types of foam – open and closed cells. Open-cell is less expensive but it is permeable to moisture, while closed-cell provides a higher R-value and adds strength to wall, roof, and ceiling assemblies while stopping both air and moisture. Foam can also act as a vapor barrier – preventing outside humidity from influencing inside moisture levels, and vice versa.
The foam is sprayed with an insulated gun and expands quickly to cover the desired surface area. Foam can be applied to attics, crawl spaces, rim joist in an existing home or building, and concrete block walls in new construction. It can be sprayed in tight spaces like ductwork and soffits, or in hard to reach spots such as behind fireplaces, around windows and doors, and in attics. The sprayed foam is then cured with a heat source. Spray foam can release odors during the curing process that some people find unpleasant, but these odors disappear once the product has fully cured.
